oh dear, - Project 03
oh dear, - Project 03
oh dear, explores the long-standing, yet seemingly contradictory expectations placed on women regarding beauty standards. My work examines themes of conformity, societal pressure, and the tension between innocence and sexualization. Most noticeably, the model is dressed like a bunny—a costume that carries dual meanings. On one hand, it represents innocence, evoking naivety. No one is born having an idea of a “perfect visual.” Yet again, we follow these standards blindly, almost naively.
staring back - Project 02
staring back explores our generation’s addition-like relationship with screens, particularly the act of reciprocal observation between user and device. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects of excessive screen time, I emphasized the mutual gaze—the idea that our screens also look back at us. Our devices are active participants in our daily lives that can cause us to become isolated or miss small moments.
jamais vu - Project 01
jamais vu, is the first of my explorations through photography and captures the surreal and disorienting atmosphere of a home at an hour when consciousness and dreams blur. jamais vu takes different areas of my dorm apartment that usually go unnoticed and presents the space as it is in its tranquility. The subjects of the photographs are everyday scenes from my living space—a dimly lit bathroom, a softly glowing kitchen, and the quiet nooks of a bedroom. These mundane scenes were transformed by the interplay of shadows and warm light, which added a haunting yet comforting quality to the spaces.
